According to the organizer, CTA, CES is expecting to attract 3,800 exhibitors and over 160,000 visitors, which include 188 Taiwanese exhibitors, account for 5% of the total exhibitors. This edition of CES focuses on unmanned vehicles, AI and startups. Key exhibitors include Bosch, Intel, LG, Microsoft, NVIDIA, NXP, Panasonic, Qualcomm, Samsung, Sony, Toyota, Huawei, ZTE, Hisense, Haier, and so on.

The Executive Vice President of Taiwan External Trade and Development Council (TAITRA), Mr. Walter Yeh, took advantage of this global technology event, held a press conference on January 4 for “Innovations on Taiwan ICT Industry”, which successfully promoted COMPUTEX and Taiwan Excellence. In addition, TAITRA integrated internal resources, set up three theme pavilions: COMPUTEX d&i awards Display Pavilion, Taiwan Excellence Pavilion, and Taiwan Pavilion, showcasing Taiwan’s outstanding ICT innovations and strengths across CES. The press conference attracted close to 100 media representatives from 11 countries. Major media outlets include Hardware Upgrade from Italy, Prohardver from Hungry, Boletin De la Computacion from Mexico, Ferralabs.ru from Russia, Channel Media Europe and more. For the first time, the press conference was synchronized in multimedia platform and broadcasted live. For those who were unable to attend, first-hand information was able to be obtained online in real time. This press conference attracted more than 20,000 viewers watching online.

ITRI presented robotic visual system and innovative unmanned vehicle technology with cloud monitoring and speedy deploy. KYMCO presented Noodoe, IOV system for motorcycles. Delta presented NovoPRO, a wireless presentation and collaboration system, which is the one and only leading development technology globally. Thermaltake challenged the extreme with its wall-mounted ATX case with tempered glass edition, fully upgrading players’ experiences. All flashlights were on these outstanding products.
International research and advisory company, Gartner, predicts that by 2017, 50 percent of Internet of Things solutions will originate in startups that are less than three years old. CES focuses on startups issues and established the Eureka Park for startups, attracting well-known startup accelerators to set up country pavilions which include La French Tech, Export Institute from Israel, StartupDelta from the Netherlands and more. Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands personally led more than 20 startups to participate, showing the support for their enterprises. TAITRA, as the organizer of COMPUTEX, invited StartupDelta to participate InnoVEX at COMPUTEX 2017.
InnoVEX, exhibiting area for innovative startups was first set up at COMPUTEX 2016. Achievement for the first year was clearly visible with 217 startups from 22 countries participating. The showcase of Taiwan Excellence includes 13 superior Taiwan brands and their 42 products comprise of the latest mobile and smart devices, drones, robots, gaming zone and 3D printing. COMPUTEX d&i awards present a total of 87 award winning products in the categories of gaming devices, network communications, computer hardware, audio and video peripherals and accessories and more. Echoing the 2017 COMPUTEX main themes, new categories such as “Robots & AI”, “IoT” and “AR/VR Devices + Content” are added to the awards competition. In order to help Taiwanese companies seize the opportunities in the consumer electronics industry, TAITRA has also organized Taiwan Pavilion at the Sands Expo. It includes a total of 26 Taiwanese companies, displaying sensors, capacitors, relays, LCD modules, GPS tracking devices, audio/visual equipment, smart medical, and smart home products, unveiling the innovations & creativities of Taiwan ICT industry.
